A commitment to respect the planet and living beings that inhabit it:

Herbatint campus awarded LEED certification

In 2018 the new Herbatint Campus, hosting the offices and the production facility, was awarded the prestigious LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) issued by the US Green Building Council. The decision to certify the whole campus, where the production unit, logistics and office building are located, required the implementation of high quality and performance standards in terms of reducing the resources used and indoor comfort. The result was a sustainable building with high comfort levels for its users, perfectly blending in with its natural surroundings.

Certified B Corporations® meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems. They redefine success in business believing that business impacts and serves more than just shareholders and has an equal responsibility to the community and to the planet. Antica Erboristeria, the Herbatint Company, became a B Corp™ because we share these core beliefs and decides to integrate them in the company’s growth and development process. Visit our profile on the B Corp website.

Antica Erboristeria joins Zero Impact Web®, to reduce and offset carbon dioxide emissions that are derived from the use of the internet. This is done by contributing to the creation and protection of growing forests, a small action that can yield major results.

Antica Erboristeria supports the cause of animal rights, siding against animal testing, in support of the abolition of all forms of exploitation. In addition, it certifies that its products do not include any element from animals, thus meeting the needs of a growing number of consumers.

Among the major eco-sustainable initiatives adopted by Antica Erboristeria for environmental protection, it includes the use of fully recyclable packaging that can be reused, thus raising consumer awareness on environmental issues and allowing them to reduce waste. Herbatint’s packaging uses only materials from responsibly managed forests.
Antica Erboristeria has improved its environmental impact with the use of polyethylene for the new bottles created during the recent packaging redesign. The use of polyethylene and its consequent weight diminution for the bottles, has allowed a reduction of the carbon footprint (GWP), energy (GER) as well as water (H2O). Conai, the Italian Consortium for packaging, has just rewarded Antica Erboristeria as one of the winners of its project called “Pensare Futuro”, that promotes packaging with low environmental impact.
